If you're choosing between Kindroid and MyBot, the biggest difference is not whether either platform can create a personalized AI companion. Both can. The better question is how you want to shape that companion and interact with it over time.
Kindroid brings together detailed companion customization, layered memory, voice and video calls, group chats, and selfie tools. On MyBot, we focus on giving you control over a character's personality, voice, conversation style, and content preferences. You can also choose the underlying AI model when creating a Classic character, then chat by text or voice in your browser.
There is no useful one-word winner here. The better choice depends on which controls and interaction modes matter most to you.

Neither memory nor voice quality gets a winner here. Without testing the same kinds of conversations under comparable conditions, a feature list cannot tell us which will feel better to you.
Choose Kindroid if video and group interaction matter to you
Kindroid is likely the better fit if video calls or group chats are must-have features.
Kindroid offers both voice and video calls. It also supports multiple Kindroids and group chats, with subscriber allowances that can be expanded through additional slots. Those features make Kindroid appealing if your idea of an AI companion goes beyond a single one-to-one text thread.
Kindroid also has native iOS and Android access in addition to the web. If having an installed mobile app is important to you, that is a practical advantage over MyBot's browser-first approach.
We offer real-time voice calls, but video calls and group chats are not among our current features. If either is essential to you, Kindroid is the clearer choice.
Choose MyBot if you want more control over the model behind the character
Our approach puts model choice and conversation settings at the center of character creation.
During Classic character creation, MyBot lets you choose an available AI model or Auto option alongside character settings such as voice, personality traits, conversation style, content preferences, chat length, and system prompt. Natural Voice uses a separate creation flow without a model selector, and the model cannot be changed after a character is created.

That matters if you do not want every character to be tied to one default conversational style. A creative roleplay character, a direct sparring partner, and a patient tutor may benefit from different model or response settings. MyBot makes those choices part of the character configuration rather than hiding all of them behind one default experience.
Kindroid also offers extensive personality customization and multiple language-model options within its ecosystem. The distinction is therefore not "Kindroid has no model choice." It is that model selection during Classic character creation and content preferences are prominent parts of MyBot's setup workflow.
Memory: both platforms take continuity seriously, but they structure it differently
Memory is one of the most important features in an AI companion and one of the easiest to oversimplify in a comparison.
Kindroid uses several layers of memory and context. Its subscription guide explains Cascaded Memory, long-term recall, and longer context windows. Backstory and saved memories help shape an individual companion, and voice calls draw on backstory, key memories, and journals. Kindroid currently pauses long-term memory recall during voice calls, although calls can still form new long-term memories.
Our Deep Memory system works differently. It organizes continuity across three areas: World Memory holds creator-defined character and world lore for deeper context; Character Facts captures things the character has said about itself so it can remain consistent; and About You automatically learns details from what you share over time, without requiring you to build a manual profile.

These systems are not directly comparable from their marketing labels alone. "Deep Memory," "Cascaded Memory," and "long-term memory" describe platform-specific approaches rather than standardized benchmarks.
If memory is your deciding factor, a better test is practical: tell each companion several details that matter to you, continue talking naturally over multiple sessions, and later see what it recalls without heavily leading it. Test the kinds of details you actually care about rather than relying on a feature name.
Voice: both support calls, but Kindroid goes further into video
Both platforms support voice interaction.
MyBot lets you voice-call a character and then returns the call transcript to the main text thread when the call ends. That makes it easy to move between speaking and typing without treating voice as a completely separate product.

Kindroid supports voice messages and calls, with settings that can share context between text and voice. It also offers video calls, multilingual speech input, and custom voices for subscribers, with its own rules for how memory works during calls.
If your priority is simply being able to talk naturally with a companion, both deserve consideration. If video is part of the experience you want, Kindroid offers it today.
We would not rank either platform's voice as "more natural" without a controlled comparison. Voice quality can vary with the selected voice, model, language, connection, and personal preference.
Character creation: MyBot emphasizes control plus community publishing
On MyBot, you can create a character with its own personality, appearance, and voice, then keep it private or publish it for others to discover.
Character creation goes beyond writing a short biography. You can configure voice, personality traits, conversation style, content preferences, chat length, and instructions, with model selection available when you create a Classic character. Our Creator Agreement also covers character names, descriptions, backstories, greetings, example dialogue, and public or private settings.
Kindroid also offers deep character configuration. Its help center describes backstory as a primary source for personality and supports other memory and personality tools around it. Kindroid is therefore not a lightweight alternative on customization.
The practical difference is emphasis. MyBot is a strong fit if you want to treat the model and conversation controls themselves as part of character design.
Kindroid is better if you want a broader multimedia feature set
Kindroid has a broad set of multimedia and multi-character features. Depending on your plan and available credits, that includes selfies, video selfies, avatars, voice, video calls, image sharing, multiple Kindroids, and group chats.
That breadth can be valuable if the visual representation of your companion is central to the experience.
We support character visuals, image generation, text, and voice. Kindroid's video calling and group chats are meaningful differences, though, and worth weighing if those are part of how you want to interact.
MyBot is web-first; Kindroid also has native apps
MyBot is a web app. There is no native MyBot mobile app today, but the site works through modern browsers on iOS and Android without a download.
Whether that is an advantage depends on you. Some people prefer opening a service directly in the browser rather than installing another app. Others want a native icon, mobile notifications, or an app-store experience and will prefer Kindroid's iOS and Android options.
This is less about capability than convenience.
What about filtered vs less-filtered conversations?
MyBot explicitly lets users choose language models with and without content filters and exposes content-preference controls at the character level. Its platform is restricted to adults 18 and older, and its terms still prohibit illegal content and other disallowed uses.
That makes MyBot worth considering if control over a character's conversational boundaries matters to you. The useful distinction is user control, not a promise that every request will be fulfilled or that platform rules disappear.
Kindroid has its own moderation policies and model behavior. These can change, so check its latest policies and model options if a particular kind of conversation matters to you.
Which should you choose?
Choose Kindroid if you care most about:
- Video calls
- Group chats and multi-character interaction
- Native iOS and Android apps
- A broad multimedia feature set
- Kindroid's backstory, memory, and personality ecosystem
Choose MyBot if you care most about:
- Choosing an AI model when creating a Classic character
- Fine-tuning voice, personality, conversation style, and content preferences
- Using Auto when you do not want to choose a model manually
- Creating private characters or publishing them for a wider community
- Switching between browser-based text and real-time voice without installing an app
If both sound appealing, try building a similar character on each platform. Have a few conversations, return later to test memory, and try voice. For a wider view of the options, see our comparison of MyBot, Replika, Nomi, and Kindroid. A few realistic sessions will tell you more than a generic feature score.
FAQ
Is MyBot better than Kindroid?
Not for everyone. MyBot is a better fit if model choice, character-level conversation controls, public/private character creation, and browser-based text and voice are priorities. Kindroid is a better fit if you specifically want video calls, group chats, native mobile apps, or its broader multimedia ecosystem.
Does Kindroid have better memory than MyBot?
There is no reliable public apples-to-apples benchmark establishing that. Kindroid documents layered memory systems, while MyBot uses its Deep Memory system. Test both with the kinds of details you want a companion to remember rather than treating the feature names as comparable scores.
Does MyBot have video calls?
We currently offer text chat and real-time voice calls, but not video calling.
Can I choose the AI model in MyBot?
Yes. We offer manual and Auto model options during Classic character creation. Natural Voice character creation does not have a model selector, and the selected model cannot be changed after creation.
Does Kindroid support group chats?
Yes. Kindroid offers multiple companions and group chats, with limits that vary by subscription level and optional additional slots.
Does MyBot have an app?
We do not currently offer a native mobile app. MyBot works in modern browsers on iOS and Android.
Final take
Kindroid and MyBot overlap on the fundamentals: customizable AI characters, ongoing conversations, memory, voice, and visual character experiences. They separate more clearly once you ask what kind of control and interaction you want.
Kindroid offers more ways to interact, including video calls, group chats, and native mobile apps. Our approach puts model choice and detailed conversation controls into character creation while offering text, voice, Deep Memory, and public or private characters in the browser.
The right choice is the one whose controls match how you actually want to use an AI companion.
